Game · Minimum age 7+ (PEGI); multiplayer needs separate consideration
Minecraft (online / servers): a guide for parents
Minecraft offers building and exploration in single-player and multiplayer modes. Public servers, other players and third-party downloads need separate consideration from the base game’s content rating. Available controls vary by edition and version.

- Microsoft child accounts add controls, but no UK identity check.
Why 7+ (PEGI); multiplayer needs separate consideration?
The age limit, explained
The content rating and account permissions are different. Minecraft’s official parental-control guidance describes parent-managed multiplayer and communication permissions for child accounts. The earlier claim of an official blanket 13+ multiplayer recommendation was not supported by the source checked.
